NorSea UK operates an office, warehouse and yard facility in Altens Industrial Estate, 3 miles from Aberdeen Harbour.
This facility incorporates our head office and the consolidation warehouse. It also includes the yard facilities which are supported by a team of experienced warehouse and logistics operatives, offering a range of material management services.
We pride ourselves in having capable personnel with a broad and relevant experience at our customer’s service.
With extensive internal racking and laydown areas, the warehouse benefits from a 10t overhead crane. A large yard provides external laydown areas and the whole facility benefits from a security access control system and comprehensive CCTV coverage, as well as secure perimeter fencing.
The warehouse extends to 4,694m² with 1,800 pallet spaces and 2,180m² of bulk storage space. Our yard extends to 12,000m² and currently we have 4,000m² available with expansion potential.
Our warehouse is equipped with a 10t overhead crane.
We have a 3t unit permanently based at our warehouse and we have agreements in place for the hire of larger units for external yard handling.
NorSea UK’s multi-skilled base operatives are appropriately trained to OPITO standard, offering a flexible approach to meeting customer requirements.
NorSea UK operates a shore base facility in Peterhead on the North East coast of Scotland, consisting of Smith Quay and Merchants Quay.
Our Smith Quay facility is a weather protected, deep-water (10m draft) berth with expansive quayside laydown and marshalling areas of 16,500m². It benefits from a general load bearing capacity of 3t/m² rising to 5t/m² on our heavy lift pad. This facility is in the process of being extended through a land reclamation project which, on completion at the end of Q4 2018, will provide an additional 30,000m².
From Q4 2018, NorSea will have control of a further 190m of berthing on Merchants Quay.
We offer a wide range of port services, including berth provision, loading and unloading of vessels, bunker deliveries and the coordination of support services.
NorSea’s Sennebogen Harbour mobile crane is based on a 4-axle mobile undercarriage with integrated 4-point outriggers and has 2 hydraulic winches in the upper structure for rapid load handling.
We have a 12t and 16t unit permanently based on our Shore Base with the 16t unit fitted with pipe clamps, allowing for the easy movement of tubular materials.
NorSea’s multi-skilled base operatives are appropriately trained to OPITO standard. Our competent personnel are serving our customers on shift patterns which ensure 24-hour cover, as required.
All berths within our shore base can deliver Marine Gas Oil (MGO) and potable water direct from the quayside. During 2017, NorSea completed the development of a 3,000m³ MGO storage facility with associated pumps and delivery lines, capable of delivering fuel to vessels at a rate of 100m³ per hour. Our water supply is taken directly from Scottish Water’s mains supply and can be delivered at a rate of 80m³ per hour.
Our shore base facility currently encompasses quayside laydown and marshalling areas totalling 16,500m². This area is in the process of being extended through a land reclamation project and the excavated material from the inner harbour is being re-used to provide the surface for this land area which will extend to nearly 30,000m² by the end of 2018.
