Base contract awarded to NorSea Group: More activity to Vestbase.
DEA Norway allocates a framework contract for base services to NorSea Group AS.
The framework agreement is for three years and ensures that DEA Norway has access to bases from Stavanger to Hammerfest. NorSea Group AS will provide services related to the supply of personnel and equipment, transport, logistics and waste management. – DEA Norway enters a period of high activity. We are building the Dvalin field and approaching operatorship in exploration drilling and production. Having a good, solid and experienced provider of base services becomes critical. The Dvalin field in the Norwegian Sea is being built with a seabed solution and attached to the Heidrun platform operated by Statoil. Vestbase in Kristiansund will be the base location for the field both during the development and operational phase. For exploration drilling in the coming years, DEA Norway will assess base location within the NorSea Group system in each case. The agreement will enter into force as from 1 January 2018 and will last for three years with an option for extension.

Vestbase has had several activities related to the Dvalin field (formerly Zidane) and the ongoing development. Vestbase supported its exploration drilling facility, Kristiansund, and, through cooperation with other suppliers in the Dvalin project, has various logistics tasks related to the ongoing upgrade at Heidrun. Future maintenance of subsea facilities, infrastructure and processing facilities at Heidrun will provide future assignments to the supplier industry and important ripple effects in central Norway.
«Dvalin development will create important local and regional ripple effects in several phases. Production drilling in the field, starting in the summer of 2019, will mean more activity for Vestbase and several other suppliers in both 2019 and parts of 2020.” The Dvalin field will strengthen Kristiansund and Vestbase as a subsea center for the Norwegian Sea. Upcoming service and maintenance activities, both at the subsea control and at the processing plant at Heidrun, will contribute to further strengthening local expertise and available capacity within subsea maintenance in our region, says CEO of Vestbase AS, Alf Dahl.
