“A company with guts and aspiration”
When Anders Buer joined NorSea, it felt like returning to his roots. He holds a master’s degree in strategy and management and grew up in the neighbourhood where he now works with business development in logistics.
“Imagine being part of planning for the next 50 years, with new technologies and business models!”
“NorSea is a highly adaptable company,” says Anders. “We dare to bet on multiple horses, fully aware that not everything will succeed. But you can’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
On his journey to becoming VP of Strategy, Business Development & Sales at NorSea, Anders spent 13 years working as a consultant, mainly for major operators. He also has experience in retail and transportation, as well as three years managing procurement and production for a global player in aquaculture.
“NorSea has a wealth of infrastructure and large storage facilities that we can offer to many industries beyond oil and gas,” he says. “We have a strong position, but we’re not resting on our laurels! It’s exciting to contribute to NorSea’s growth into new areas.”
A love for numbers might run in the family. Both of Anders’ parents worked in banking, but accounting and auditing didn’t appeal to him as a young man. Anders played football on Randaberg’s senior team but gradually scaled back as his career picked up speed and became incompatible with a football club that was growing at the time. However, his heart still beats for the club:
“I’m the team leader for my twins and also serve on the board of Randaberg Fotball.”
During his first two months on the job, Anders prioritized visiting all the bases operated by NorSea Logistics.
“You need to see things with your own eyes and talk to the people doing the daily work. The same goes for customers and partners. That’s how we can collaborate better and help each other succeed. I firmly believe in that!” says Anders.
